Understanding your Loan
As a Susie Mae loan borrower, it is important for you to be sure that you understand the terms and conditions of your loan. Your loan terms and rights and responsibilities are defined in your Master Promissory Note. If you do not have a copy of your MPN, you can call our office at (800) 237-9721, ext 442 to request a copy. You may also be able to download a copy of your application on EnRoute. If you have not already done so, create a Susie Mae loan file to keep all of your loan documents together in a safe location.
Making Payments
Susie Mae has partnered with two student loan servicers - EdFinancial and Granite State Management and Resources (GSM&R). This means that you will be working with one of our servicer partners for the repayment of your Susie Mae loan(s). All repayment activities - making payments, requesting deferment or forbearance, requesting payment histories or payoff amounts - are handled through your servicer. If you are not sure where your loan is being serviced or where to make your payments, you can call our office at (800) 237-9721, ext. 442 or check online via EnRoute.
You may also be eligible for a special interest rate reduction on your Susie Mae Stafford, PLUS, or Grad PLUS loan when you pay by automatic debit. With automatic debit, your monthly payments will be electronically deducted from your checking or savings account. Your payments will never be late and you will save time and money. Contact your loan servicer for more information about automatic debit.
