PLUS Pre-Approval

CSLF offers three fast and easy ways for schools to simplify the pre-approval process for PLUS Loan applicants.

PLUS by Web

By providing a link to EnRoute or directing parents to visit the CSLF website to apply online, schools can provide parents with a fast and easy PLUS Loan pre-approval process via the internet. PLUS loan applicants complete the online form and receive an immediate credit decision. If approved, the borrower may print an online application, request a preprinted application from CSLF, or electronically sign the application (depending on school participation). A CommonLine request for school certification can be sent to the school (depending on school participation) and/or a fax report.

PLUS by Fax

By providing PLUS Loan applicants with a CSLF PLUS Loan Pre-approval Application, schools can provide parents with a fast and easy PLUS Loan pre-approval process via fax. PLUS loan applicants complete the pre-approval form and fax it to CSLF. Within 24 hours, CSLF will contact the applicant and the school to advise them of the credit results. For all approved loans, CSLF will send a PLUS Loan Application and Promissory Note to the borrower. The school may certify the loan manually or electronically, depending on the school's preferred process.

PLUS by Phone

By directing PLUS Loan applicants to dial (800) 237-9721 Ext 442, schools can provide parents with a fast and easy PLUS Loan pre-approval process via the phone. By providing the required information, parents can apply for a PLUS Loan right over the phone. For all approved loans, CSLF will send a PLUS Loan Application and Promissory Note to the borrower. The school may certify the loan manually or electronically, depending on the school's preferred process.
