Improved Health

Believe it or not, individuals with a college education are healthier! It has been shown that more college graduates reported being in excellent or very good health than high school graduates. Typically, college graduates engage in healthier lifestyles and have better access to preventive health care. They have a tendency to exercise or play sports more than individuals with only a high school degree. Plus, college attendees tend to be more involved in hobbies and leisure activities such as camping, hiking, reading and even visiting amusement parks. College graduates have more fun!

Better Citizenship

People with college degrees have a reputation for being good citizens in their communities. They are more likely to vote in presidential elections and tend to make informed political decisions that better their lives and the lives of those around them. In addition, college grads are active in community activities and perform more volunteer work. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "A nation's best defense is an educated citizenry."

Personal Growth

Attending college will help you become a more critical thinker. You will become more mature and better prepared for the job force. When you graduate, you'll be a different person than the excited first year student you once were. You will develop your own opinions based on ideas you learned in the classroom, your interactions in your social community, and the many experiences your school makes available to you over the years. College is one of the most exciting times in your life. Don't miss out!
