Creating a Better Future
Besides enjoying a better work environment and community
by attending college, you are also improving the chances of
a promising future for yourself, your children, and generations
to come. Studies have shown that children of college-educated
parents are more likely to graduate from high school and also
attend college. In addition, offspring of college graduates
tend to have higher cognitive development. You are setting
a positive example!
Finally, college graduates are more likely
to be better consumers and therefore make more informed decisions
about purchases that enhance their life. College grads save
more money, too. They have a tendency to accumulate more assets,
and they also contribute to retirement plans in greater numbers,
setting themselves up for comfortable lives in later years.
Graduating from college improves the chance for a secure livelihood
for you and your family. Your future is waiting and it looks
brighter than ever.

What do I want to do with my life?
Are you unsure of your career path? Take advantage of your
time in college. Many colleges allow at least two years before
you must declare a major. During this time, you'll take
general education courses and hopefully utilize career
guidance opportunities on campus.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook lists careers with
detailed information about potential incomes, job
responsibilities, and educational requirements. Another good
resource is the career center at your school, which can help
you design a career path based on your skills, strengths,
and interests. |
