Keep in contact with your credit card company

If you change your name or address or telephone number, you are responsible for contacting your credit card company to update your information. Also, contact them if you are having trouble making payments. It is important to maintain a good relationship between you and the credit card company.

Use your credit card appropriately

Think of your budget before you make any impulse purchases. Use your credit card carefully or only for emergencies and make sure that any debt you accrue can be paid off immediately or at least within three months.

Limit the number of credit cards you have

You only need one credit card. When you use several cards, it's easy to overspend or be surprised by multiple monthly bills. Shop around to find the single best card for your needs.
